The Vallée de la Marne vineyards
In the Vallée de la Marne, in the Champvoisy vineyard, patiently reconstituted at the end of the last century under the auspices of Christian Bizot, then head of the company, Bollinger cultivates most of its Meunier.
A modest and unfairly ignored variety, Meunier is worth getting to know a little better. Essential to the balance of Special Cuvée and Bollinger Rosé, it delicately adds a hint of roundness and softness to them.
Vigorous and resistant, it is particularly at home in the clay soil of the Vallée de la Marne. Maison Champagne Bollinger grows it on 24 hectares at Champvoisy, Passy-Grigny and Venteuil.
This fabulous domain owes its immense value not only to the land, but to two hundred years of human commitment, labour and expertise—an immeasurable contribution to the Bollinger estate.
