The Great Canopy
Wood, the vein running through 2015 Bollinger vintages
In 2015, the vines encounter the forest. Wood becomes the grain running through both the Grande Année and Grande Année Rosé. A living material that uplifts the Bollinger taste. This vintage is like a predella to this legendary winery that provides its exceptional savoir-faire and bestows its distinctive signature.
Blending
The exquisite texture, concentration and generosity of this vintage is evident in each and every bottle.
La Grande Année Rosé 2015 is a blend of 11 crus, predominantly 62% of Pinot Noir from Verzenay, Aÿ and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and 38% of Chardonnay from Chouilly and Avize. The blend includes 5 % red wine from La Côte aux Enfants parcel.
Fermentation takes place entirely in oak barrels and the wine is aged, sealed with a natural cork, for more than twice the time required by the appellation. Dosage is moderate, 8 grams per litre.
